Lore & history

When Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl unveiled the Primaris Space Marines for Roboute Guilliman's Indomitus Crusade, he did not merely re-equip the Chapters with new rifles and power armour; he restored anti-gravitic vehicle technology that had been all but lost to the wider Imperium since the Great Crusade. While the standard Primaris Repulsor serves as a heavily armed ten-man armoured transport, the Repulsor Executioner is its dedicated heavy battle-tank sibling—analogous in tactical doctrine to how the Razorback trades troop capacity for turret firepower, but scaled up to the level of a main battle tank.

By sacrificing four of the standard Repulsor's passenger seats to install massive capacitor banks and plasma-cooling cores in the central hull, the Repulsor Executioner mounts a monstrous primary turret capable of duelling Chaos Land Raiders, Necron Doomsday Arks and Tyranid bio-titans at extreme range while still carrying a six-man Primaris squad—such as Bladeguard Veterans or three Gravis-armoured Eradicators—into the heart of the fight.

Across the battlefields of the Plague Wars, the Pariah Nexus and the Fourth Tyrannic War, the Repulsor Executioner has become the armored fist of Primaris battle companies.

Design, mechanism & battlefield effect

Unlike the tracked Rhino, Predator and Land Raider families, the Repulsor Executioner does not roll on treads—nor does it glide silently and weightlessly like an Aeldari Falcon grav-tank. Instead, its ventral hull is lined with brute-force Imperial anti-gravitic impeller plates powered by dual rear turbine-reactors. As the tank advances across rubble, mud, lava or water, its grav-plates violently crush the ground beneath it with a roaring downward pressure wave, Pulverising rocks into powder and hurling back any infantry foolish enough to charge its flanks.

Protected by layered ceramite-and-adamantium plating and automatic fragstorm grenade launchers that detonate a curtain of shrapnel against boarding enemies, the Executioner carries an extraordinary volume of secondary weaponry controlled by its Techmarine gunner and target-cogitators: a hull-mounted Twin Heavy Bolter, a turret-coaxial Heavy Onslaught Gatling Cannon, Twin Icarus Ironhail Heavy Stubbers, Storm Bolters, and an optional Ironhail Skytalon array.

All of that secondary firepower exists merely to clear away infantry screens while the Executioner's main turret locks onto enemy armour.

Patterns, variants & doctrine

The Repulsor Executioner is fielded in two primary main-gun configurations. The first and most feared by enemy tank commanders is the Heavy Laser Destroyer—a massive multi-beam lascannon array whose synchronized laser pulses can punch cleanly through the void shields and adamantium glacis of super-heavy war engines at extreme range.

The second configuration mounts a Macro Plasma Incinerator—the same colossal, sun-hot plasma cannon carried by Redemptor Dreadnoughts—capable of vaporising whole squads of Chaos Terminators or melting medium tanks in a blinding sphere of azure star-fire. Closely related hulls built on the same Cawl grav-chassis include the standard ten-man Repulsor armoured transport, the open-topped six-man Impulsor vanguard transport, and the specialized Gladiator Lancer, Reaper and Valiant battle tanks.

Notable patterns & relic examples

  • Heavy Laser Destroyer Configuration: Arms the Repulsor Executioner with a multi-beam anti-titan laser cannon capable of gutting enemy super-heavies from across the battlefield.
  • Macro Plasma Incinerator Configuration: Replaces the laser destroyer with a massive plasma cannon to vaporise heavy infantry and armoured spearheads.
  • Standard Primaris Repulsor & Impulsor Kin: Shares its brute-force ventral grav-plate chassis with the ten-man Repulsor transport and Gladiator tank family.
