The Purifiers are an elite order within the Grey Knights. They are recruited only from battle-brothers whose souls are judged utterly incorruptible and resistant to the warp, even by the high standards of the Chapter. The selection is so strict that there are seldom more than a few score Purifiers at any time.
Their leader, Castellan Garran Crowe, is also the Chapter's champion and the warden of the Black Blade of Antwyr, a daemonic sword whose whispers he must resist every moment. Only someone of his purity could carry it.
The Purifiers' mastery of the psychic power known as Cleansing Flame sets them apart. They channel their own faith as holy fire that burns away daemons and their corruption.
The Purifiers are a brotherhood of Grey Knights selected for their spiritual purity. Their duty is to guard the order against corruption from within. They are said to be incorruptible, and they protect relics such as the Black Blade of Antwyr. Their Castellan, Garran Crowe, both leads them and is their Champion. His predecessor, Merat Gavallan, was killed during a daemonic attack. David Annandale's novel 'Warden of the Blade' tells Crowe's story.
The Purifiers are Grey Knights of unusual spiritual purity. Their Chambers of Purity lie deep beneath the fortress-monastery on Titan, at the entrance to the vaults of Mount Anarch. The sources suggest it may be part of the natural order for there to be a handful of spiritually unblemished warriors whose purpose is to fight daemons and keep the fire of Order alive. In battle they turn their purity into a weapon, a psychic fire that burns souls and can destroy a fully manifested daemon within moments.

Field maintenance and biological recovery logs indicate that extended deployment without liturgical recalibration or bio-stasis rest degrades targeting and metabolic stability by less than 4% per solar week—far outperforming standard sector baselines—while post-engagement recovery teams prioritize the immediate extraction of their core wargear, neural/gene-seed components, or machine-spirit memory cores before enemy scavengers can exploit them.
